It’s not very often you get to eat dinner with the Mona Lisa—let alone walk the Louvre Museum after hours, every piece of art available for your viewing pleasure, sans crowds. But that’s how Amanda Seyfried spent a warm Tuesday evening in Paris. “I’m still pinching myself,” the actor tells Bazaar ahead of the Lancôme x Louvre dinner during Paris Fashion Week. “What a place to celebrate women throughout the centuries! It was surreal to be among some of the most innovative and captivating creations on the planet while celebrating this iconic brand. It feels good to acknowledge the connection between Lancôme’s beautiful curations for woman and the refined integrity of the Louvre.”

Seyfried and other A-listers, including Penélope Cruz and Emma Chamberlain, dined and perused the Louvre’s collection in celebration of the luxury beauty brand’s makeup and skincare collaboration with the world-famous museum.

When it came to makeup inspiration for the evening, Seyfried decided to create a playful French-girl beauty look with her makeup artist, Genevieve Herr. “Getting ready with Amanda is always fun,” Herr says. “Our team has a great energy, and we work very well together. Often time, we take turns telling stories about our family and pets to keep the mood happy and up.”

Ahead, get a behind-the-scenes look at how Herr and Seyfried’s team reimagined the beauty of the Louvre through makeup.

“Amanda starts her getting ready process by using the Advanced Génifique Hydrogel Sheet Mask before I arrive,” Herr tellsBazaar. “Then, once I get to her, I apply Absolue Revitalizing Eye Cream and Absolue Revitalizing & Brightening Rich Cream, making sure to massage it well into her skin.”

“The look was also inspired by the dress, which was a modern take on a 1950s couture gown,” Herr explains. “Since the dress was a beautiful bright shade of pink, I wanted her lips to be her natural shade with a creamy texture.”

“The Louvre was our inspirational backdrop, and eyes were the main focus of this look,” Herr says. “As her gown was a modern take on ’50s couture, the wing liner harkened back to that time period. We featured the black wing liner using the Lancôme Idôle Liner Ultra Precise Liquid Eyeliner.”
